I want to be good at photography.
I am an impatient person, and the learning process seems to be really slow going. Of course, I haven't actually read up on it or anything, so I guess I'm impatient and lazy. I really am going to try harder, though. I think the biggest lesson I learned from these pictures is that if your camera is far away from you, and you try to crop the picture so it looks more close-up, it will be low quality. On the bright side, my dress has KITTIES on it!
I got this sucker at the modcloth black friday sale, and I mean really. You know if you put kitties on something and make it under $30 Imma buy it. I love that fashion bloggers understand me in that respect. The non-internet world doesn't get it, do they?
I took these in front of a cute little grafitti in town, that says "hate is not an option." My camera was across the street from me so I have a few shots with cars in them. And the people in the cars have their heads turned towards me like "Girl, what the hell are you doing?"
I seriously love these shoes. But in the past whenever I tried to wear them, I ended up with blisters on my toes quicker than you could say "But they're so darn cute, it's worth it!" (Which I did say, several times.) But this time I discovered a secret. Are you ready? It's a little weird, so don't you judge me!
I thought if I had something to cushion my toes it would act as a buffer of sorts. And I didn't have any cotton balls, so I cut up a tampon and taped it to my toes. Oh yeah. And it totally worked! I don't even care if you're judging me right now, actually, because I am blister-free and I can still wear my cute shoes.
Anyway, I hope you dudes have a freakin wonderful Monday!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I'd love to see them when you're done!
DeleteI want a dress with kitties on it so badly! Sadly none exist in my closet...yet. You look so cute! People always look at me weird while I'm taking photos too- a blogger's plight for sure! Also, I just saw your last post, and I have that same flower necklace!! I was excited when I saw that since I thrifted mine about 10 years ago...craziness.
ReplyDeleteAnd I adore you shoes, glad you found a creative way to wear them! haha, tampons are so versatile...who knew?
Wow! That's crazy! I love that that happens, such a cool coincidence!
DeleteHaha the non-internet world really don't understand- I feel your pain on that one. And a dress with kitties is the best type of dresses! I'm really kicking myself for not checking out ModCloth on Black Friday. And I really like your pictures next to the grafitti here, they're so cute! You'll get the hang of it sooner or later- I've been blogging almost a year and finally figured out a way I like to edit..kind of. Haha it takes patience!
ReplyDeletehaha, that is actually an extremely clever idea for shoes! i might try that for a few of my pairs now.
ReplyDeletei really do like your photographs next to the brick wall, the first one is my favorite! you'll discover your "eye" for photography, but it does take awhile! i was lucky to grow up around it, my mom is a photographer!

Oh Rachel, and here I thought I couldn't love you anymore. Cats and tampons in one post? This is the best.
ReplyDeleteHahaha you're the nicest.
DeleteI hate when shoes are uncomfortable like that - I usually just suck it up! And this dress is cute on you - the sweater really works with it!

Thankyou so much!
DeletePhotography- especially self-portraiture- is tricky. You'll improve and learn all the time! (though, I've gotten lazy and make someone else take my photos now, I actually think self-portraiture is really fun.)
ReplyDeleteThe slouchy sweater over this dress is also fun.
