Pink Hair and Disrespect

Hey guys!
I'm so excited to show you my new pink hair! As with most of my hair adventures, it didn't really turn out as planned, but I really love it! It was a little shocking to me at first because, like woah my hair has never been so light! The roots especially. But I really do love the peachy color. I don't know how hard it will be to maintain, but I plan on keeping it this way for at least a couple months!

I unfortunately had to deal with some art theft yesterday! Hannah left me a comment mentioning that Oasap was selling a sweater with my cats print on it... and I definitely had not given them permission. I emailed them, left a negative review, and then blasted them on facebook and twitter... and by the time I was done with that they had taken it down (not that they sent me an apology or a reply or anything, no siree). It really sucks because that site is crawling with art theft, and I know they are big in partnering with bloggers. So here's my plea to you, fellow bloggers: Don't support Oasap anymore! They have a history of stealing from artists, and they need to know that it's NOT okay.

My friend Laura also found the same sweater for sale on someone's storeenvy account. I emailed storeenvy, and I hope it gets taken down soon as well.

It really has been great, though, all the support my friends and family have given through this ordeal! Everyone really rallied around me and it's so nice to know that people are looking out for me and my art. So thankyou everyone!

Also, on the bright side, if anyone notices my art popping up at the French site, Rad.co, I'm officially partnered up with them! Signed a contract and errthing. If you're a French reader, you can buy things with my art on them!

We kindof had to rush around to get these pictures done. I was like "Shit I haven't taken outfit photos in over a week, I've got to get some done!" And by the time I was done helping my sister study and dealing with the drama of the day, the light was fading fast. (Yeah maybe I woke up at like 1, what of it??)

Christmas Wishlist

Hey guys! I know I've been a little dead around here. Things that have been going on:
1. I finished my exams and hung my first gallery show!
2. I dyed my hair a peachy pink.
3. It's been rainy.
4. Watched through Neon Genesis Evangelion with Trav.
5. I've been relaxing and enjoying my break with Travis before he heads to Italy for 3 weeks!
6. Here's some things I hope I'll be receiving for Christmas:

I also bought myself one of these totes:
PRE-ORDER ~ One-colour screen printed 'trouble existing' tote bag
So excited to be supporting an artist I love!

Classic

Man! I feel like I haven't gotten a decent outfit shoot done in days. Feels good!

So this skirt was the one thing I purchased on Black Friday! It's super swooshy and I love it. I was worried about feeling frumpy since it comes down past my knees and I love a good mini skirt, but really I just felt classic. Which is not something I usually feel!

So as an Illustration major during finals week, I only have one test to study for, and a couple short papers to write. But then I've got this gallery show coming up and my teacher didn't really prepare us for it at all. Like I know how to mat my work properly. So I've been plenty busy getting ready for that and stressing about deadlines. I am a pro at stressing.

Oh and that print behind me there is my fave from my thesis project so far!

Break Time

1. My battery died like 3 minutes after I started taking pictures.
2. This is my last week at school. I don't have much in the way of finals!
3. Working Black Friday was hell on earth. I wimped out after 4 measly hours and had to call it quits! Maybe some people like working retail, but it's an anxiety trap for me.
4. I cut my hair some more. Not sure how much I like it, but maybe it'll grow on me (hohoho)
5. Coupon code for my shop is extended for Cyber Monday! That includes custom illustrations. THANKU25 at checkout for 25% off! Shop ethically and support small business this year, I know I'm trying to!

I hope you guys are all doing well. Since I'm a senior, this will be my last Christmas break! For all the complaining we college students do, we sure are lucky to get a whole month off for the holidays. I miss my wild orange hair, so I'll probably be doing something weird with it over break. But what??

Hey hey! Here's some art I've done lately!

A couple business card designs.

A sketch I might paint when I have the time.

My final set of trading cards on Historical Heroines are done! I will have to find a convenient way to show you all 25 of them, maybe after I get the printed ones.

SO I'm doing Christmas Portraits now, so go check them out! They'd make a great holiday card to send to your loved ones. Plus everything in my shop is 25% off right now! Use code THANKU25 at checkout.

Twinsies

Oooh it is cold.

I thought me and my sister looked cute and matchy today, so I tried taking some photos. Can you believe people have asked us if we're twins?! Maybe we could pass for the fraternal kind. But it was so cold and cloudy out that they didn't turn out super... we were shivering the whole time. It's actually snowed twice already here this year (for like half a second, none of it stuck or anything), but we normally don't get any of that until after Christmas at the latest!

Emma is such a cutie!

I got this dress from Kate's online store, via Travis. I think I bothered him until he bought it, but maybe he found it charming (?) Anyway, I have it in blue and I love it. The white one is a little thin and makes my boobs look funny though, so I gotta figure something out about that.

I def. bought something in Modcloth's sale already, but I'm going to try and stay off the clothing sites until Black Friday has passed. Shit, I just remembered Cyber Monday is a thing :( HOWEVER, you can get 25% off in my shop til the 30th with the code THANKU25 which is a pretty big deal if you ask me.

All Black

Oh hi, didn't see you there!
I'm just loving this outfit for no particular reason. I really never wear all black, but I love the way it looks.

I wasn't even chilly because I had the brilliant idea to buy nude sweater tights to wear under my sheers! Genius, amirite? I swear I'm not hanging these cloths up behind me just as a backdrop. They are my senior thesis in progress, stamped fabric that will soon be turned to skirts. I like how they are turning out and I really hope my teacher will like them too!

Oh hey I've been watching a ton of anime lately. Haha. Not so great to do while working, since I have to read the screen, but I'm super into it. I've watched FLCL (you should too), Madoka Magica (very sad), and now Sword Art Online (probs the lamest of the three). On my list is Cowboy Bebop, Soul Eater, and Sailor Moon if I can find it! Give me your recommendations if you have any (but don't recommend Bleach plz).

Dress (worn as shirt): Idk, some boutique
Skirt: American Eagle
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Tights: Target I think
Floral Crown: Made by me
Necklace: F21

I can't wait for the weekend guys. Wbu?

A Hat

Do you know how hard it is to find a baseball hat with nothing on it?

The semester is coming to an end pretty quickly here. I essentially only have a week and a half left! While that means good things like Christmas and relaxation, it also means scrambling to get work done. I normally handle my workload like a pro all semester and then when it comes to finals I freak out and convince myself that I have too much too much too much to do, when really, it's not that bad.

I am really frustrated that I said yes to working Black Friday, though. If you don't know, I quit my job. Yeah I don't even work there anymore, but I walked into American Eagle while shopping for my sister's birthday, and got wrangled into it! My shift is 11:30 Thanksgiving night to 7:30 AM the next morning. Here's hopin it'll go by quickly.

Oh and hey, I need more peeps to follow on Instagram! I'm floralprintz so follow me if you want!
