Lately

Hey guys!
While I'm coming home from Grand Canyon, how about you look at stuff I took pictures of last month!
My fat kitty, Kit
Playing pokemon in my dress that matches my ds
I am seriously good at finding four leaf clovers
What are you looking at? It's a microscope view of my cheek cells, eww!
A work in progress shot of a painting I've since finished

Hope you guys are having a good week!

Pastel Princess

 I redid my hair!
I used Manic Panic's Electric Lava, and I really like how it turned out! I want a more orange color than this, but I love how bright it is, and I'll get it right next time. When it fades out I'll post a review and some more details on how it worked for me.
Now, about the dress. I made it! I recently did a new blog header for KiKi of Cats in My Closet, and she has the cutest clothes. This dress is inspired by her yellow one with the ruffles that I included in the header! Check her out for real. I made it out of a bed sheet I got from Goodwill, and I think it turned out great! I love how my new hair looks with pastels!
This dress makes me feel like a freaking princess.

The Grand Tour

Now that I'm home and unpacked, I thought I'd show you guys around my room! It's my favorite place in the world and for the past week I've just grinned every time I've walked in. It's nice to be back!
As far as decorating goes, I'm not really the minimalist type.
I've got so much art, I've started sticking it up all over my walls. I'm also starting to collect prints from my favorite artists!
'
Oh and I have a huge mural of fish in my room.
I painted this a couple summers ago when I thought my room needed a change from it's orange and pink color scheme (of which the chair is a remnant)! The piles of clothes are for my etsy shop and things that need to be altered.
A nice panorama of my closet.
My favorite kitty is pretty glad I'm home, too!

Ugly Pretty

Hey hey guys! It's kindof chilly round here, and I've been enjoying my summer vacation so far by sleeping a lot and watching a lot of TV. It'll get old real quick.

Today's drawing took way longer than I thought it would... I'm just not used to using Illustrator! Pandora even timed out while I was working and I didn't even notice.
I've been watching a lot of America's Next Top Model on hulu. Tyra taught me this face is considered "ugly pretty".
And check out this pretty new ring! I got it on etsy for Easter.
This dress is one of the best ones I've made! There are a lot of construction flaws if you look closely, but ain't nobody care! It slipped on easier than it usually does, so I'm inclined to think my boobies got smaller? My bras still fit normally, though, so maybe I lost back fat? I don't even know.
 dress: made by me
cardigan: boyfriend's, from ae
hat, shoes: thrifted
tights: romwe
necklaces: modcloth and f21
ring: etsy

Remember to enter the Flock Together giveaway! You can win a big old modcloth gift card, so get on that!
I've noticed I've got a few new followers as a result. I hope you guys stick around! It is really important to me though that everyone who reads this blog wants to, so I won't be pissed if you leave.

Sweet as Can Be

This is probably one of the best dresses I have. I got it in high school at a Dillards Clearance Center for like $30. It's pretty tight in the chest since I was smaller then, but it was definitely worth the money since this sash that came with it is like a staple in just about ever outfit I wear!
It makes me feel like Alice in Wonderland!
I've had these tights in a drawer since high school as well! And for some reason, I never wear them. But look, they're sweet as can be!
 dress: Dillards
tights: Target
shoes: BAIT
cardigan: thrifted
black collared shirt (under dress): forever 21

Coolwork

Well, I'm finally home! And while I'm organizing my room and sleeping in til 12:30, I thought I'd show you the final projects from Spring semester!
The following are from my printmaking class, which used traditional block and screenprinting techniques, and my prepress class, which taught us how to prepare things for printing and was entirely digital. I also had a portrait class, but let's be real, I suck at oil painting real hard, so I decided to keep those gems to myself.

Let's start with printmaking!
Look familiar? I made a reduction print using my favorite self-portrait as a model!
These next ones are on ethical fashion. You've already seen this screen-printed tote in outfit photos, and it will be for sale in the shop soon!
This was a simple block print on recycled fashion. I added the pattern in digitally.
This is another block print on blood diamonds!

Now here's my stuff from prepress. We did so much in this class, so so much.
Our assignment was to make two business cards, one for the teacher's husband (a photographer) and one for ourselves. Mr. Soto chose one of our designs to actually use. Mine got second place! He didn't choose it because it was "too girly" haha. Story of my liiiiife!
This is actually just a cute drawing. We were supposed to get them printed on little keychain tags, but the printer never got back to us! Un. Pro. Fessional.
I may have shown this before, but I'm not sure! It's the pop up card assignment that I ended up giving to Travis for Valentine's Day!
You remember my unicorn shirt, right? We had our designs screenprinted.
We had a packaging design project, and I made a bottle, baggie and box for a fictional bath and body company. That bottle is actually my acne medication that I just stuck a sticker on haha!
This is page 1 of a 8 page self-promotional booklet that we would theoretically send out to companies. Those little cats and pinecones are stickers!
Last but not least, we spent the last month of school doing a campaign rebranding project. My friend Hannah let me make a huge set of ads, posters, stickers, banners, and packaging based on her (already well designed) etsy store! I made a 98 on it and an A- in the class.

Thanks for reading, guys!
