Aspire

 I'm considering opening an etsy shop to sell some illustration prints and vintage clothing. Sometimes I just want to quit school and be a fashion designer. And I'm an illustration major! School is fun for me!

When I graduate I really really want to just open up a vintage shop that I curate. I'm really into design and atmosphere and I just can't wait to do the window displays and set up the interior.

But I'm afraid of losing money. It's hard enough to make a living with illustration as it is.

 But about the etsy shop. I'm scared of doing that too. I might wait until I have more of a following. What do you guys think? I have loads of vintage I'd love to sell!

 On the day I wore this, Travis and I went on an adventure of sorts to the river where we played with the geese and waded into water a sign informed us was dangerous to swim in. It was a beautiful day.

Good Things Lately

1. Learning new watercolor techniques in class.

2. My cat is a cutie pie.

3.Going on geese adventures with my boyfriend.

4. My brand new dress from Romwe! I can't wait until it comes in the mail.

 I didn't realize when I got dressed how well my cardigan matched my nail polish. I also didn't realize the background matched my jewelry until halfway through photographing! Aren't happy accidents great?

 I ate at Panera, and the checkout guy told me I looked like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz! I don't think he'd seen the movie recently. He probably just doesn't see girls in pigtails often.

 What's your favorite thing about fall? I think mine might be the blue sky. The sky is never so blue as it is in fall. Or maybe the crisp air, which is a really nice change from South Carolina's humid summers. Or the colorful leaves. I hope this year is a dramatic one!
Color-wise, of course.

I've been watching Scrubs nonstop lately. That's because the Netflix I mooch off of needs to be renewed. But no complaining here! There's a reason I have all the seasons on DVD!

 I just looked at these pictures and realized I didn't get a shot of the full outfit. Pff.

 The other day I realized I was dressed like a kindergardener, so I looked in my closet for something to edgy it up a little bit, and I came up with ZIP. No leather, no studs, no black really. I was so bummed out I resolved to look for specifically edgy pieces on future shopping trips. I ended up throwing on a fishing hat and pretending it made the dress less girly.

 As for this outfit, I was going for pattern mixing. Oh yeah.

1- When and why did you start blogging?
I started blogging in January or so of this year! I found out about this whole universe via tumblr, and followed several blogs for a couple months until I decided, "hey, I can do this too!"

2- What do you love to blog about and why do you like it?
I like to blog about my outfits, art, and crafts, because that's what I like to read about on other people's blogs. It's what I'm good at and I love that little bits of peoples' lives are up there for me to read. That sounds creepy, but it's not. I just find it very inspiring that people have the courage and ambition to put stuff on the internet about themselves for me to read. It's kindof unifying in a way.

3- How did you get your blog name?
When I started my art tumblr, I thought "hmm, what do I draw?" and came up with "floral prints and kissing". Since then I've named all my blogs "Floral prints and" something else. I really do like flowers.
I chose "common sense" because I'm such a spend thrift! And it just makes sense to me to buy as much as I can at cheapo stores.

4- What do you think is your best post yet?
Uhh umm uhh.
There are a couple of outfits I'm rather fond of, but my pride and joy is probably my hat wreath. I just thought I was so damn clever.

5- What is your inspiration for blogging at present?
There are a lot of bloggers on here that inspire me. I love seeing "remixes" or whatever they're called, because it motivates me to try shaking up my wardrobe in whole new ways!

Nostalgia

There are these woods out behind my house that I used to explore when I was a kid. Me and my sister and our neighbor used to go tromping off through there with some thorn clippers and just had the time of our freakin' lives. Since then it's overgrown a lot down there near the creek. While I was taking these pictures I swear I heard something hidden in the trees growling!

How is it that I was more courageous when I was in elementary school?

 I don't know what you guys feel about "home", or what it means to you, but my house is really where I belong. We bought it right after it was built. Or maybe before, I'm not sure! But my family is the only one to have lived there. I remember when it was just dirt! And now it's really become ours.

 On another note, lately all I want is shoes. Heels. Even though I walk a lot and have the world's most blister-prone feet, its all I want to shop for! I'm probably preaching to the choir here.

Also, I had a profile on IFB, and then they either sent a message from my account without me knowing, or signed me up for some forum and I got annoyed and deleted it. I don't know if this means I ignored anyone's messages, but I was getting like a trillion notifications. So, sorry.

The Other Side of the Tracks

 Our campus is divided by a railroad. All the buildings but two apartment complexes are on one side. I literally live on the other side of the tracks! Don't you just love when your life becomes a pun? Or a play on words? Or a idiom? I think it's an idiom.

 So I got this pretty pink shirt at the Miracle Hill back home. It's pale pink, you can hardly tell in these photos. But it looks way better on a person than on a hanger. And, introducing my favorite blazer ever! I've actually photographed it before, back in like, March.

 I was beginning to think these train cars were abandoned for good out here. But they disappeared overnight, so someone somewhere must love them!
