Strawberries!

I did something a little different for this week's drawing, on account of not liking any thing I drew.
And here is the debut of my first hand-printed shirt! This is what I'm going to be doing for my senior thesis, except I'll acutally be making the clothing the prints will go on. I made a DIY on how I did it, so look for that later in the week!
I've started volunteering at my Dad's work. He manages a Habitat for Humanity store, and I'm going to run the Craigslist account for him! Since I've been using etsy it should be pretty easy to handle, and I get to photograph a bunch of vintage housewares, decor, and cameras, so that's cool.
Plus, exciting news! I got a (paid) internship doing design work at my Mom's company! I'm super excited to be making money, getting real world experience, and having something to keep me busy this summer!

Peace out, girl scouts!

P.S. I am posting one of my favorite outfits ever at Flock Together today, check it out!
Also, thanks for those of you who left thoughtful comments on my last post. I always get hella nervous posting my "real opinions" on here, because I don't want to offend anyone. Especially artists I admire. But it's important to have the courage to speak your mind, right?

Dots and Spots

Well Hi!
Today I took pictures in my neighbor's unmowed lawn!
Since I've been back from vacation, I've been taking it easy. Don't judge me, my vacation was the hiking and not sleeping kind, not the relaxing on the beach kind!
I've been watching a lot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Love that show.
There are actually lots of polka dots going on in this outfit if you look closely!
This fun skirt belongs to the lovely Ashley of Southern California Belle! See how she wore it here.

Ugly Pretty

Hey hey guys! It's kindof chilly round here, and I've been enjoying my summer vacation so far by sleeping a lot and watching a lot of TV. It'll get old real quick.

Today's drawing took way longer than I thought it would... I'm just not used to using Illustrator! Pandora even timed out while I was working and I didn't even notice.
I've been watching a lot of America's Next Top Model on hulu. Tyra taught me this face is considered "ugly pretty".
And check out this pretty new ring! I got it on etsy for Easter.
This dress is one of the best ones I've made! There are a lot of construction flaws if you look closely, but ain't nobody care! It slipped on easier than it usually does, so I'm inclined to think my boobies got smaller? My bras still fit normally, though, so maybe I lost back fat? I don't even know.

Remember to enter the Flock Together giveaway! You can win a big old modcloth gift card, so get on that!
I've noticed I've got a few new followers as a result. I hope you guys stick around! It is really important to me though that everyone who reads this blog wants to, so I won't be pissed if you leave.

Cat Shorts For Adoption

I am trying to get creative with my drawings on here... digital art is so hard for me!
And HEY HEY check out these cat shorts! I've got 4 pairs in stock in my etsy store, so get you some for spring! These puppies are looking for a loving home, haha! I get tons of compliments on these whenever I wear them, and these navy ones are my personal faves.
There's something to be said for just a plain white tee, am I right? I rarely just wear a tshirt, this is one of the only ones in my closet, and the only plain one!
I swear I tried taking pictures in 3 different locations, and my standard brick wall behind the gym was the only one that worked out. I see all this beautiful photography on other blogs and I want to give new locations a try! Since I'll have my Mom's DSLR to myself all summer I'm going to experiment with some new stuff.

Profesh

AGH why do my photos by the railroad tracks always turn out like poop?
I'll tell ya why. It's because I get hella sweaty trekking out there. And also because I'm not a good photographer haha.
I borrowed this dress from Erica, and I wore it for a Marketing presentation on a fake product called "Ab Wax Surf Wax." It's short for "Abstinence Wax" because one of our main competitors was "Sex Wax" which is real and I am not making it up. Here's the logo I designed for it LOL.

Anyway, this dress is awesome, and the most awesome part of it is the full, twirly skirt! I would've loved to wear this out dancing, yknow, if I ever went out dancing.

blazer: Goodwill (coolest find, amirite?)

Checked Out

Hey hey!
Man I am so close to being done with the school year it's cray. I've officially checked out. But you know as soon as summer starts I'll be all "I'm sooo borrreeeeedd."
I was pretty pleased with today's outfit. The weather was beautiful and people were nice to me about my floral crown. I think a lot of people think I'm a big weirdo for wearing it, but das okay.
My new thrifted shoes are adorbz but they're a teensy bit small and gave me blisters. Gotta break 'em in!
So here's a story! We live across from the biggest D-bags I've ever met. And we haven't even met, really. Friday the power went out, so that was annoying. We propped the door open for the emergency lights coming from the hallway, and they did the same thing. I was chatting with my friends in the living room, and they started shouting at us! First it was just making fun of us like "LETS TALK LOUDLY ABOUT THE LIGHTS BEING OUT", but then it got inappropriate real fast. Like "THE GIRLS ACROSS THE HALL WANNA BLOW US" and "fuck" was used. Not cool, right?
But they actually came into our dorm once a couple of months ago. Like one of them knocked on the door and as my roomate went to open it, he just turned the doorknob and started to come in! Then he saw Laura and like guffawed and walked away. We reported them to the hall office but nothing was done about it.
Also they called us nerds once.
On the bright side, nerds are totally cool now.
